WHY WE GIVE
Giving is an act of worship and thanksgiving—like planting a seed and trusting God to provide the harvest. When we honor Him with our tithes and offerings, we believe He blesses the rest (Proverbs 3:9–10; Malachi 3:10–12).
We believe Christians are called to be generous (2 Corinthians 9:6), and there’s no organization better positioned to change the world than the local church (Ephesians 3:10).
At Red Cedar Church, we encourage giving cheerfully (2 Corinthians 9:7) and sacrificially (Psalm 4:5). Offering our “firstfruits” acknowledges that all we have comes from God and is to be used for His purposes (Matthew 25:14–30). Giving is worship—our response to all God has done.
We hear you, this isn’t an easy topic. Do you have more questions? We probably have your answer.

We understand that many people feel stretched thin with debt, bills, or financial stress. But generosity is not about the size of the gift—it’s about the step of faith. Even starting with 1% is an act of obedience that honors God and begins shaping your heart toward trust. We also offerbudgeting and financial peace classes to help you take control of your finances. And remember
Jesus’ promise in Matthew 6:33 and Paul’s reminder in Philippians 4:19: when you seek God first, He is faithful to provide for your needs.
-
That’s a fair concern. At Red Cedar Church, we believe financial integrity is essential. We operate with transparency and accountability—regular financial audits, elder and finance team oversight, and clear checks and balances. We also love to share stories of impact so you can see how your giving directly fuels ministry and changes lives.
-
Actually, God doesn’t want something from you—He wants something for you. Giving is not about meeting a budget; it’s about worship, freedom, and trust. We don’t pressure or guilt anyone into giving. Instead, we invite you to discover the joy of generosity and the peace that comes when God has first place in your finances.

It’s easy to think that way, but Jesus taught us otherwise. In Mark 12, He honored the widow who gave two small coins—not because of the amount, but because of her faith. Every gift matters to God. When many of us give faithfully, even in small amounts, God multiplies it to accomplish big things in His Kingdom.
-
The truth is, generosity rarely starts later. If we don’t learn to trust God with what we have now, we usually won’t when we have more. Jesus said, “Whoever is faithful with little will also be faithful with much” (Luke 16:10). Start with what you can today—even if it’s small—and watch how God grows your faith and your capacity to give.

We’re so thankful for those who serve—it’s vital to our church family. But giving is also part of discipleship. Just as serving uses our time and talents, giving entrusts our treasure to God. Together, they form a complete picture of worship and obedience. Generosity shapes the heart in a unique way that serving alone cannot.
